I've been keeping up with and participating in an interesting debate going on here. It's a complex issue that deserves attention and I am encouraging people to get involved to help resolve a large problem in this country and throughout the world.

I really appreciate your thoughtful and interesting comments on the site. I dislike that the post has turned into an abortion debate, because that was never my intention. Houstonist would never take such a snarky attitude towards an issue that serious, but the comments are very thought-provoking nonetheless.

I am in full agreement. I also wish the article did not turn into an abortion debate because there really is a bigger issue at hand. I think my comments have shown to be somewhat diplomatic in nature, as I do see both sides of the issue, even if I believe in one more than the other. It's a shame that some people have ruined it for the others :(

I'm just a fool about approving comments. Most of the time I don't have to do it, but occasionally if someone uses a word that tips off the spam filter, I have to go in and approve them, but I usually don't realize it. It's published now. My apologies.
